Ayla's rashes! Aug 2012

Ayla went into the hospital Tuesday night on Aug the 7th (2012).  Sunday night is when I first noticed a little rash under her arm and by her diaper, but I didn't think much of it because I knew she had gone through some bushes that afternoon.  But Monday morning, she had broken out in severe hives.  I called the doctor who told me to stop her Amoxicillan that she was taking for her double ear infection.  That was the 10th day of taking it.  The doctor said that an allergic reaction to Amoxicillan or to any drug can start 7-10 days after taking it.   So we went to the store and bought some Benedryl.  An hour later she threw up then slept for 3 hours and then acted normal the rest of the day.  Tuesday morning her rashes had doubled.  It looked really bad.  By noon she had a low grade fever of 101.4 (rectally).  Ayla refused to walk or stand up on her legs.  Her feet were purple up to her knees. The doctor couldn't call me back until 5:30.  When we finally talked, she said I should probably go to the emergency room.  We did and they admitted her.  We were there until this afternoon- Friday.

Then Ayla went back into the hospital October 6th, for a 105 fever that wouldn't go down.  What a crazy year! Luckily, Thankfully, she was only there over night.  We had some time to kill while we waited for her to get hydrated so we played some clapping games.  

February fun

Our Februarys are quite busy.  From the 100th day of school projects, Valentine's day, Eli's school project on Steve Jobs, Ayla's b-day, then Caleb's b-day.  It's a fun filled month!

Eli did so good on his presentation!  He spoke so clearly and really knew his stuff.  The teacher picked the kids to do the famous person that they matched most.  Pretty good match, I'd say.  Eli is very smart and definitely enjoys computers, modern technology, and the benefits of instant gratification that modern can technology provide.

We love our birthdays in bed!

 Caleb turned 7.  I can hardly believe he's  7.  He got his breakfast in bed and went to school.  We love our Bubbas!  He wanted a tuna sandwhich (Togo's style), a capri sun, carrots & ranch, a whole apple, and a go-gurt for lunch.  Then for dinner he wanted pizza and soda.  We had a pizza cookie with icecream on top for dessert.  He really wants a 49er cake, but we'll do that when the extended family comes for dinner on Sunday and we'll have hamburgers for dinner.  It's his turn for a party this year too so I need to get started on that!

 I just had to take a picture of Ayla in her new booster seat- Asleep.  She almost never falls asleep in the car anymore.  This girl goes the distance with her awake hours.  She shares a room with Abby who can stay up later than the boys (and Ayla), but Ayla just stays up almost as long as Abby.

I made 2 ice cream cakes.  This one with confetti cake, vanilla icing, and strawberry ice cream.  The other was a yellow cake, chocolate icing, and cookies and cream ice cream. 

We had a snow ball fight (made from nylons stuffed with batting) in the trampoline while listening to the Frozen soundtrack. The kids loved it!
They also built snowmen out of marshmellows when they first arrived at the party. ....Do you wanna build a snowman?    There were also Frozen coloring pages for the kids to color too.
